When I Say Jump, You Say How High...

• so i decided that today was the day sir londerben was going to crawl. because he's that baby that just decides he's going to do something and goes for it all the way. he did that with sitting up, at least. just one day sat up and never wobbled or fell over. so i figured we would just go with that same strategy for crawling.  yeah, only HE didn't decide to do it. so when i laid him on the floor he just stayed in the exact position that i put him in for like 5 minutes, just staring at me out of the corner of his eye and waiting patiently for me to pick him back up. tomorrow we are SO having a little chat about who the boss is around here.

• so after that failed experiment i took some photos of him because i just wanted to eat him today. because i think whoever said laughter is the best medicine never had a child. he just makes everything seem a little better. and he doesn't even notice when i mix a few tears in with all the drool. instead he just grabs the side of my face and kisses me over and over again, making my heart grow a little bigger everytime.

• surprisingly enough, i actually liked the photos i got of him today. usually i'm deathly afraid of taking photos of him because i'm scared i'm going to mess something up.  ask me to take photos of your kids and i'll do it all day long, ask me to take some of mine and i'm pretty much guaranteed to make an excuse as to why i can't. i really completely hate that about myself.
• speaking of reasons i annoyed myself lately, i just yesterday finally got my taxes done.like 3 hours before the post office shut down. why, you might ask after i tell you that i have worked at the tax office since january? because my middle name is procrastination and i'm just annoying like that.which was completely retarded of me considering i got a substantial amount back after being so poor last year. actually, as i was signing the papers i had to practically staple my own mouth shut to keep from screaming "GOD BLESS AMERICA!" at the top of my lungs and scaring everyone in close proximity. but in my mind i was partying all over that messy tax office that i will hopefully never have to work in again.
• changing the subject, i didn't post about rebekah's visit yet and i have some photos that i love so i'm posting them late rather than never. we just had the best time. rebekah is the sweetest, dramafree-less, realest person i know with the exception of maybe amy. which made her the perfect addition to the cheryl/amy dream team. not that i'm completely without drama, but i'm getting better, believe me. the two of them both definitely help keep me calm and focused and sane. and that's why i love them.
• we mostly just hung around together...we didn't really have tons of big plans other than watching awesome girlie movies (notting hill, hitch, bad boys II, etc etc), making art and taking lots of pictures. we also threw in some antique shopping and a trip to the olive garden. but that's just what you HAVE to do when girlfriends get together. i don't make the rules, i just follow them. sometimes. when it's to my benefit, that is.

• in other news, i have become completely hooked on hulu the last few days. why? because i turned my tv off because i'm poor and hulu does it for free. which is pretty cool if you don't mind watching tv shows from 2 inches away from the screen due to the fact that they are either too small or too grainy. but hey, who am i to complain about free tv? nobody, that's who.
• speaking of hulu, have you seen the gilly skits on SNL? i find them absolutely hysterical. i'm a huge kristin wiig fan anyways, but i'm thinking this is her best skit ever.and guess who else is a superfan of the gilly series? amy's 7 year old daughter jenna. awesome. i have the sense of humor of a first grader.

I'm So 3008, You So 2000 And Late...

• nope, i didn't elope. just was really super lazy and didn't post here for awhile. but i DID go to maryland to see him for 5 days.  thanks for all the e-mails asking about my non-existent nuptials, though...it allowed me to feel mysterious for a couple days.  
• speaking of going to MD, i decided to pull a rebekah and not check in any of my bags...just use carry-ons.  which meant that a camera didn't fit. not that i remembered to try it, but i'm sure it wouldn't have worked anyways. so therefore my amazing palm treo camera was the only thing that was doing any memory capturing this past weekend. and when i say amazing i mean pure crap. thank goodness for photoshop and black and white actions. not so much boyfriends who get sick of having their photo taken WAY too early in the relationship. lessons to learn, people, lessons to learn.
• 
• the plane ride from here to DC is pretty short...just a little over 2 hours...which makes him seem not so far away and makes the distance more bearable, i think. actually, that's a lie. i  miss him like crazy.
• what DIDN'T make the distance bearable was the fact that because the flight is so short, they jam you into a toy sized airplane that is the equivalent of the little engine that could. and there for awhile i was pretty sure it couldn't. i'm fairly certain that our flights had a 3 person maximum when it came to how many people could ride on it.  and what was also not at all awesome was the fact that because the plane was so tiny it jerked everytime it hit anything remotely resembling a pocket of air. which in turn made us all violently ill and resulted in i think at least half of the businessmen riding with me vomiting all over their suits. disgusting. i honestly thought i was going to die. either that or kill the man beside me who kept gleefully announcing how much fun he was having since he was a space engineer.
• meeting nathan's family and friends was super fun...they are probably the sweetest group of guys i've ever met.  they all made me feel completely welcome and made sure i knew what a great guy nate is.  and while i loved hearing what a great catch he is, i would have so enjoyed a few embarrassing stories thrown in there. but alas, so far i got nothing. soon, though. i will break them soon.
• among nathan's friends that we went to see was afua sam, one of his best friends and an insanely inspiring artist.  she designs her own clothing line and then has nathan help her with her fashion shows. i'm crossing my fingers and hoping that one day i get to be there for one of them. mostly to see her amazing designs on the runway and a little bit to see my super shy no-nonsense boyfriend at a fashion show. i'm pretty sure he'd still just be wearing a nice pair of jeans and a t-shirt. also pretty sure i'd still think he looked the best out of everyone there. ah, sappy new love.
• i have decided that african food is maybe not for me. some of it at least. the first meal nathan cooked for me was AMazing. and when i say amazing i mean scrumdiddilyumptious.it was this delicious stir-fry of fresh vegetables and chicken mixed with homemade fried rice that made me want to beg for the recipe and run it over to our local chinese restaurant. quite possibly one of the top 5 meals of my life.and the other stuff he cooked for me this week was pretty good too, but there were a few things thrown in there that you couldn't have paid me enough to eat.  all of them boughten, all of them scary looking and smelling. i'll just have a hamburger, thanks anyways.
• the hardest part of it all was leaving LB behind, but i decided that it would be best to not take him the first time, and despite the fact that i literally felt like i wasn't going to be able to make it the last couple days, it was really nice to be able to meet everyone and talk uninterrupted about all the things we needed to discuss. and plus, he was staying with my cousin kari, who not only spoiled him rotten (in the best possibly way) but also was really good about feeding my london addiction by sending me photomails every few hours on my cell phone.
• my favorite was the one on easter morning with the lamb ears on.

• yeah, i don't think i'll ever be able to leave him again. ever.

Baby I Can Feel Your Halo...

so i was up at 3:45 to take rebekah back to the airport this morning after staying up till about midnight scrapbooking and then spending another hour wasting time the way i do best and therefore my brain is completely scrabbled and nothing will come out except this long run-on sentence. so i'm just going to post the 6 layouts i finished yesterday (the goal was 10!) and then take a nap while lb is still sleeping...

super simple stuff. lots of fabric and lots of computerized journaling.

oh, and i decided that all my pages don't need titles. why did i feel like they did?
